The District Board of Ministry (DBM) oversees the education, formation, and credentialing of ministerial candidates. It integrates the functions of the District Ministerial Studies Board (DMSB) and District Ministerial Credentials Board (DMCB), ensuring holistic development for ordination.
The DBM supports ministerial candidates through education, evaluation, and recommendation for ordination in cooperation with education providers, local churches, and district leadership.
The board supervises candidate progress through validated Course of Study, ensuring alignment with Church of the Nazarene standards.
Coursework outside a validated Course of Study may be evaluated for equivalency.
Completion of a validated Course of Study is a major milestone. Education providers issue certificates of completion, and the district board recommends graduation to the assembly.
The DBM works closely with education providers to ensure continuous communication, student tracking, and proper credentialing.
